Following what seems like an attack that wasn’t blocked by iThemes Security, I wanted to make the plugin block several IP addresses, but despite what the Ban Users descriptions and help text claim, this isn’t possible.

I only see a field for banning user agents, but not IP addresses, and blocked IPs aren’t even listed, so can’t be removed, in case they were wrongly blocked.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Gal,

Since the 8.0.x release you can find that functionality in the Banned Users card. Simply navigate to Security > Dashboard and, if not already there, add the Banned Users card.

Thanks, @nlpro . Found it and used it, but it shouldn’t be difficult to have this function where users would expect it, even if it also stays on the dashboard. Just sayin’.

    Yeah, I agree.

It seems a bit counter intuitive, certainly because the functionality has been part of the Ban(ned) Users settings for so long.

Anyway, we’ll get used to it 😉
