• Hiya! Complete newbie here, but I find the images created by the plugin aren’t quite as sharp as I’d like…

SO, I’d like to manually create both the regular and retina images, and have the plugin show the appropriate ones to the viewers.

Er…but how do I go about that? I understand about the image sizes and the @2x naming added to the retina image…but where do I upload the manually created retina images?

    Thanks!
    Owen

    Hello,

Unfortunately WordPress create the image sizes by itself. The original image is not modified however (full-size). If you need to upload the retina for full-size, then it’s the right end column in the admin (pro can do that); if the size of this file is exactly double-sized from the normal full-size, it will not be “resized” (since it’s not required) and you will have exactly the image you uploaded.

For the created alternative image sizes, there is nothing much you can do, both normal and retina images go through the standard internal WP process (and server). This can be modified by other plugins too (optimization plugin for example).
