The Yoast Plugin has frozen my site and I need to remove it but I can’t get into the wp-admin dashboard to deactivate. Can anyone help with manually removing this plug-in and peripherals files? When i installed it everything looked fine until I updated the custom permalinks setting in the dashboard.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

you have to exchange the content of your “.htaccess” file. You can find this file via FTP in your wordpress folder. Remove all code in your htaccess file and after that copy and paste the code in the grey box under “Basic WP”:

    htaccess

Or upload a new htaccess file (with content above) and overwrite the old one via ftp.

    Best,

    Tobi

@visual-mechanics If you are trying to manually remove the plugin via FTP you would just need to navigate to the /wp-content/plugins folder and then remove the folder ‘wordpress-seo’.
