manually scan for optimizatons

    How can I make autoptimize check the website for more optimizations?
    i.e. when i add a plugin or (in worst case) change the template. When exactly does autoptimize start scanning and fixing?

    AO will be active on each request to WordPress that is not served from cache and for each request look through the HTML to optimize as configured, this happens live and without you having to do anything 🙂
