We have received a number of similar reports like yours.
We were unable to replicate that issue on our servers and we tried on a few different platforms.
Could you assist us in debugging this problem?
What OS is your server using?
What browser are you using while you try to upload?

I wanted to update this thread and to provide answer to the original question.
We found the cause of the ‘HTTP error’. We are fixing it and will be releasing a new patch version – 1.2.1 that will fix this error.
About manually importing a dump file – at the moment this is not possible, however I think it is a good idea to add a second way of importing a file, just like WordPress does with its plugin system. I am putting this on the roadmap for version 2.0.0

v1.2.1 of All in One WP Migration has been released. It fixes the HTTP Error problem that you were experiencing.
