Many 404 pages

    Hi, when I visit Page Insights, on 404 pages tab, I find many 404 pages, why ?

    For example :

    /wordpress491
    /wp487
    /old474
    /backup474
    /new472
    /bc461
    /bk461
    /home457
    /main457
    /.git
    /config118
    /wp-content
    /plugins
    /WordPressCore
    /include.php72

    Hi @romainperoua ,

    Most of those weird paths ( /wordpress491, /.git, /backup474, etc.) are bots scanning for old backups or config files. WordPress blocks them, so they show up as 404s. They don’t hurt your site or SEO, just noise you can ignore.

    Only act when a 404 is for a page or file you expect to exist. Then fix the link or add a 301 redirect.
