Hi, @akubrin!
ShortPixel Image Optimizer only replaces the physical files; it does not modify the URLs of the images nor edit the page’s code. Moreover, it will not replace the physical file if it cannot make a backup before.
I also checked your site and all images look good to me.
If you are still facing this problem, please let us know step by step how we can reproduce it. I also suggest making sure you flush your website’s cache and then try again. Please do it in this order:
– Cache plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, SG Optimizer…)
– Server cache (SiteGround, Bluehost…)
– CDN cache (Cloudflare, StackPath…). Please do it from your CDN’s dashboard, not through your cache plugin or hosting dashboard.
– Browser cache (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari…)
Thank you!
Hi @sixaxis!
Thank you for checking in.
I’ll try the solution you propose. I can easily clear the plugin caches. I’m not sure how to clear a server cache, though. Can you advise?
The site does not have a CDN and is unlikely to need one since its audience is geographically concentrated.
I don’t think my browser cache is the issue. These errors are reported by a site crawler. The images also show up fine in my browser.
I wonder if this issue is caused by ShortPixel Adaptive Images. Perhaps I should restore the originals, deactivate Adaptive Images, then reoptimize. What do you think of this idea?
Thank you.
Hey @akubrin!
Regarding server cache, it all depends on your host. Some hosts provide some server cache (like SiteGround, who provides you with a button to clear cache in their control panel) and some hosts don’t, so the best way to find out is ask their support team 🙂
If the errors are reported by a site crawler, but the images show up fine in your browser, perhaps the site crawler is just giving a false positive? It would be worth to know what those URLs are, and where they are located.
Regarding Adaptive Images, restoring the originals and re-optimizing will not give any benefit. I think we first need to know what I told you: what are the URLs? where are they located?
Maybe this way we can find out more.
Best,
