Many duplicate charges

Hello,
My store is getting many multiple charges lately resulting in quite a few angry customers. Does someone know what is causing this? I’d appreciate some help!

I have been getting the same issue for over 4 years! It is very troublesome because the merchants lose money because stripe charges processing fees. And then the customer loses double the amount of money and then has to wait for it to be refunded. It also makes a mess on the store front because you have to cancel the order from the backend.
Overall a nightmare. PayPal does not have this issue.
It is only happening with this plugin.
I am not sure what to do. I think the only option would be is to find another plugin which handles stripe payments.

I can confirm there is already a thread opened for your request, which is this one. We’ll be glad to help you further on that thread (I understand that the issue could be similar, however, each site could take different types of solution).

There could be several reasons, to help you investigate, please head to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > stripe > settings > advanced settings, tick Log error messages if you wish to save logs that can help you/us troubleshoot your site. This can be disabled and enabled as whenever you want.
It would be great if you please share your System Status Report, found under WooCommerce > Status on your site.
And please share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available) They look like:
woocommerce-gateway-stripe-[date]-[string].logLooking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your response. I enabled logs as you suggested. I’m not sure how to share them with you.
These duplicate charges are a big problem. Not only do they make customers angry but they are costing us a lot of money now that Stripe is not refunding their fees when a payment is refunded.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via
WooCommerce > Status. SelectGet system reportand thenCopy for support.Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com/, or https://pastebin.com/, and feel free to change/remove your site URL in the report for privacy reasons.
You can paste the Gist/Pastebin link here in your reply, once you have that.
The error logs can be shared here similarly, after redacting sensitive information.

As I understand, the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin is used to capture payments for the membership subscriptions offered at your site, enabled by the following two plugins:
- WooCommerce Memberships: by SkyVerge – 1.24.0
- WooCommerce Subscriptions: by WooCommerce – 4.8.1
Could you go ahead with updating WooCommerce Subscriptions to the latest version available (4.9.1), and see if the issue persists, please?

Hello, I did update WooCommerce Subscriptions but that made no difference. I’m continuing to receive many duplicate charges. I also disabled caching plugins long ago so that can’t be the issue either.
