    S2 worked great up until a few weeks ago, when it started sending multiple emails when a new post was published. The most recent post sent two emails and shortly after sent 4 more to each subscriber. There wasn’t anything done to trigger two sets of emails and we’ve tried the troubleshooting methods on the S2 website. We also have installed the email log and it lists each email being sent. Is this a known issue or is there a way to troubleshoot this? Many thanks!

  • @atcayanan,

    Are you saying that the duplicate emails seen in users Inboxes are also seen in the email log? That the log also contains duplicates?

    If that is the case then I can only think that it’s a plugin conflict. Try disabling other plugins and retesting.

    Thanks, we’ll try that. We did try recreating the site on another instance, since it’s difficult to test on the live instance with so many subscribers (unless there’s a test mode that we’re not aware of). Our test didn’t send out duplicates, but we’ll try again, activating plugins one by one until it happens. We checked the conflict list on the S2 website and we didn’t notice a match, but below is the list of activated plugins on this site. Please let us know if you see a particular plugin that draws your attention and we’ll start there. Also, once we confirm the plugin, we’d be happy to let you know so you can add it to your list 🙂

    Thanks again!

    ACTIVATED PLUGINS:
    Akismet
    Digg Digg
    Email Log
    Exclude Pages from Navigation
    Get The Image
    LinkWithin
    MailChimp
    Pinterest Auto Pin for WordPress
    SB Uploader
    ShareThis
    Smart Youtube PRO
    Social
    Subscribe2
    Twitter Tools
    Wordbooker
    WordPress Mail Queue
    WordPress SEO
    WP-Mail-SMTP

    @atcayanan,

    I’m not sure but you have a lot of email plugins there – most are probably okay, the email is generated by Subscribe2, logged in Email Log, queues in WordPress Mail Queue and finally sent via SMTP with WP-Mail-SMTP. But you have MailChimp on there too – what are you using that for?

    Agreed. We didn’t install and activate many of those, our client did, which is making troubleshooting even harder. The goal is to deactivate and uninstall unused/unneeded plugins once this is resolved.

    @atcayanan,

    I would suggest approaching it the other way around. Get rid if what isn’t needed or used. The. You have fewer variables when conflict hunting.
