    We used Duplicator for years , but the recent update(s) give trouble. For one site yesterday this:

    • Restoring on new domain needs a password and the name of the .zip. When making this is an option that I left blanc as always. Even if I only want the database restored
    • Manual check shows that about 60% of the content in the zip file is missing.
    • For some uploads the domain is not changed to the new one (this was about 1 month ago). This concerns .mp4 and .m4v files.

    And in the last version the interface is bad. The old one was clean and quick.

    I finished the process yesterday by manually downloading the database, edit the domain, upload. And before I had uploaded all files and manual edited the config file.

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    Duplicator doesn’t set a password to the backup archive or the installer.php automatically. The protection should be enabled during the backup creation in order that Duplicator can lock the backup archive or the installer. Can you please check the Duplicator settings on the website where you created the backup?

    We had some free days.
    But I did not change any default settings. And during the creation process the field was ‘optional’. I never saw this screen before.
    I can not find a ‘default’ setting for this option.

    It is unclear what went wrong. I’ll watch this for other development sites.
