Map page load doesn't complete

Because I appear to be experiencing the same issue using Geo Mashup.

The page appears to render everything in FF as expected, but the page load does not complete and Firebug shows that maps.googleapis.com is at fault.

The issue is intermittent, so it may also have something to do with connectivity, but I wondered if this is an issue that can be helped in code.

There were 2 suggestions on stackexchange, do either of them seem relevant to you ?
