Map resize

Hi,
I am placing a map in jquery tabs and the map needs to be resized when the apropriate tab is activated.
What is the right way to implement google.maps.event.trigger(map, ‘resize’)
Should I replace “map” with something else?
which selector I should use?

I know that was discussed before but the developer never confirmed a solution.
