Mapping Redirect

First of all, i have never had a REAL issue with this issue. SO cheers on that.
My problem is that i have some people that link to my website with http://www.example.com/live, i have the mapping setup to http://www.example.com as my primary URL.
the mapping is cutting off the uri (everything after the domain name). how do i have the mapping go from http://www.example.com/live to example.com/live.
if i knew the function that handled this, id edit it myself.
