Maps Advice

Greetings! I didn’t know where else to post… I’ve just started out, and I’d much appreciate some advice–I don’t know if what I want to do is possible, or what plugins could support it if so.

I want to present users with a Google map of their zip code. The map will have a grid superimposed on it. The grid square size is static. Users will zoom to a location and click a grid square. I want to capture the location or ID of the square and save it to a mySQL DB.

Is all of this possible using WordPress and plugins? General advice would be great! Thanks!
