I am wondering if there is a way to embed the “Mark Complete” functionality within the next lesson button? Or some other work around?

My issue is that my team finds it counter intuitive to have both buttons on the screen. The user may opt to press next lesson and their progress will not be tracked. On the other hand, if we only display the Mark Complete button, they will not be able to navigate through the lessons after clicking mark complete once.

    Thank you in advance!

  • @jessicakaminsky,

Not really, no. These buttons both serve two different (albeit possibly similar) functions and there’s no way to “embed” one inside the other.

    A few notes:

    1) The “Mark Complete” button actually records the progress and upon marking something complete is also automatically redirects the student to the next available lesson

    2) The lesson navigation elements are just that — navigation elements — there’s no progress recording functionality attached to them.

Perhaps what you’d really like to do is *remove* the navigation buttons. If this seems like a potential solution for you give LifterLMS Labs: Action Manager a shot to remove these navigation elements from your lessons without having to write any code: https://lifterlms.com/docs/lab-action-manager/

I know that’s not the perfect solution for you but it’s all that’s available in LifterLMS without having a potentially large amount of custom code to completely rework the functionality of the navigation buttons. It would be possible to do it but you’d need to write a lot of code.
