Yeah, just go to the Settings page and enable ‘Marker Clustering’. You need version 1.10 to get it.
I was talking about red squared markers, not blue/yellow/ ones (clusters), or maybe I’m missing something..
Oh, ok, those are just custom icons that she created. You can set the icon for a marker to be whatever image you want. The plugin doesn’t ship with a set of images, though, you have to use your own.
Yeh i already did that, but I was interested by the number inside, I imagined the number was copied from a placemarker field…
thanks anyway !
In that example, the number is something specific to her use case; not a general data point related to the plugin.
You could set the image programatically if you saved the number in a post meta field and then used the bgmp_default-icon filter to select the corresponding image.
Good idea, but I’d like to use it in order to inform about numbers between 10 to 100+, so if I understand your method, I need 90 marker images…
I think there is a js file for gmap3 which is doing this but as I said earlier I’m unable to code this… π
Yeah, in that case you’d want to just use a blank image and try to overlay the number on top of it in text.
The Other Notes page has some tips on hiring a developer to make customizations.
Hi gatelli
I only just spotted this thread π
For the red squared markers with numbers inside, I generated the number markers with the colour I wanted and downloaded the set from this site. I then use the appropriate custom marker for each placemark.
Awesome, thanks Gillian π
Thanks!
I found a similar site for markers, but how do you select your marker for the placemark? By category ?
You upload your markers to your Media Library, then insert the one that you want as the featured image in the placemark post. If I have misunderstood your question, please post again.
caught it ! Thanks I didn’t know featured image was working… nice !
