I have a plugin that stops invalid sign-ins after 4 failures. I just loaded Defender and set the Mask login option. Question. How is anyone even trying to sign in if the Login URL is hidden? They should not be able to fail login if they can’t get to the login page.

    Hello @lestexas60 !

Hope you’re having a good week!

This feature of Defender may be dependent on your site’s use case – on some sites hiding the login pages is not something you will want to do, on others (where it’s not expected for people to be logging in), it’s a great solution to make the bots’ life harder. So it will depend on the use case and specific site.

Can you share more details about the plugin you are using and let us know if you’re experiencing any issues with both plugins being enabled? There is a possibility that both plugins will try to use the same hooks in WordPress and they may get into each other’s way – as a general rule it’s not recommended to have more than one similar feature enabled on a WordPress site to avoid such events.

    Warm regards,
    Pawel
