Hi,
1. Unfortunately, the Masonry layout is column based (vertically), so the order can’t be respected horizontally.
2. If the ALT tag is provided in the Media Library for your Media items, they are also part of the gallery, of course 🙂
1 – how disappointing! 🙁 🙁 🙁
2 – I have set the alt tag in the Media Library, but when I inspect the source code, the alt tag doesn’t appear on the image in the gallery
1. That’s the way Masonry works 🙁 Why don’t you use a different kind of layout?
2. Can you share the URL of your website? I would like to look at it. The images are inserted through the WordPress API so the ALT tag should be there. Make sure you cleared your cache, that might be that.

The alt tags don’t appear as long as Meow Gallery is enabled. If I disable Meow, the alt tags appear in the gallery.
The Meow Gallery is actually using the same process as the WP Gallery to generates the HTML specific to one image, so actually it should be the same. Why do you mean exactly by not having the alt tags? They are only part of the alt attributes in the HTML and they are definitely present. Could you make screenshots of the display or the HTML?

Thanks for the screenshots, @nataliepants. I have checked but I can’t replicate this at all, so I wonder why this is actually happening. The alt is generated exactly the same way between the Gutenberg Gallery and the Meow Gallery. Can you contact me directly? Here: https://meowapps.com/contact. I would like to share with you a fresh install of WordPress on which you would reproduce the issue; then I will definitely find the issue and fix it 🙂
