Massive CPU usage?

    My hosting account is up to 500MB CPU usage in just a few days (on shared hosting). It’s a new installation of WordPress with Buddypress and BBpress and a few other basic apps. But no real content or visitors. I have had some spam accounts. I’ve never seen this happen before?

    Has anyone ever experienced this?

    This could be that the shared hosted server (specifically yours) is overloaded and is causing issues.

    You may want to contact them firstly and see what’s going on with their end.

    Keep me posted, would like to make sure this gets resolved for you.

    Thank you David – I will contact them now (GoDaddy). Sorry, I made one mistake, it is the memory, not the CPU that is hitting limits.

    I added a new spam plugin. The spam registrations have now stopped and the memory seems to be stable. So probably was that.
