Massive Image Optimization Problems with v7.x

Hey all – I just wanted to say that I was having massive problems with anything v7.x of this plugin. My site has a lot of images on it and it would get stuck during the process and after days, would go from 100% back down to under 50% completed in an instant. I started spending money to give my quic.cloud account more ability to finish again. I did this probably 4-5 times and I spent quite a bit of money to give the optimization more credits to finish. The whole process seemed clunky. I was working with AI to sort through the problems and I finally got to the point where I uninstalled the plugin to isolate problems and such but it never solved anything.

Finally after a couple weeks of this, the AI suggested I start over and go back to v6.5.2. It said this was the “gold standard” for stability and was the last release before the prep work began to move to the v7.x series, and the beginning of unstable builds.

I have to say, going back to v6.5.2 seems to be the right move. The GUI is way more snappy and responsive, my image optimization is currently 60% completed and so far has had no issues with that process hanging up on something. I would really like to move to the latest version of this plugin, but wow, I thought I was going crazy for a while trying to make it work thinking it was me that was doing something wrong.

Has anyone else had issues like this? With the progress on image optimization jumping back to 50% or less after almost a week of image optimization? Also issues with images getting hung up and not being able to be “pulled” when there were images stuck there. Clicking PULL would just send a grenade into the process and it would be stuck forever after that point. The “is running” flag would never clear, and killing processes wouldn’t ever clear it either. The only way to recover was a 100% reset and start from the very beginning. After spending over $75 in image optimization credits, I was seriously considering moving away from this to another plugin and finally the AI suggested v6.5.2. So far, it’s been rock solid. I’ll see how it goes once it gets to 100% completed and reply to this post as an update. Just curious if others have/had issues like this with the v7.x versions. …and to also give hope to those that are having problems that v6.5.2 seems to be a great version to roll back to if needed – until the 7.x series reaches the point where its rock solid and stable like this version is.
