I should add that this happened after an update.
The plugin is still in the WebFTP with my hosting provider. It is not showing up in installed plugins section of back end of WP. As such it is not active and can not be reinstalled, activated or updated.
It sounds like the plugin files might have gotten corrupted when you upgraded. You can try this:
1. Backup everything first.
2. Use FTP to delete the /wp-content/plugins/paid-memberships-pro/ folder. (Note: Please don’t click “delete” from the Plugins page in WP as this will also delete all of your PMPro data. If you delete from FTP, it only deletes the file which can be replaced.)
3. Use the WP dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New to find and install the plugin again.
Let me know if that fixes things for you. If not, we’ll probably need more information and access to help you. We can 100% help you through this in our member support forum.

Hi Jason, thanks for getting back.
I renamed the original PMP folder in FTP and then installed a new version in the ‘Plugins’ page. The new version retained all the old information, which is a major relief.
It was the only option I had as the PMP file had vanished completely from the ‘Plugins’ page. The addons (e.g. Mailchimp addon) remained.
There is currently an update waiting to be done which I am of course wary of but I guess I know how to correct it if it gets corrupted again.
Just to be clear. I can now delete the old PMP plugin (that I renamed) and should still retain data?
Thanks
Vincent
