    Hi there

I need to know what is the file size transfer upload limit. I red somewhere that it is up to 500mb

Also can you please explain to me this message which i got just about to create a package.

If the root WordPress path is not writable by PHP on some systems this can cause issues.
If Duplicator does not have enough permissions then you will need to manually create the paths above.

    Thanks

  • Hey @eddievet,

If you are using the DupArchive (daf) format then the max creation size is 500mb. However, when using the ZipArchive (zip) format there is no limit. Some budget hosts do have timeout limits which can affect the zip process. To change these settings go to Settings > Packages Tab > Archive Engine.

The message above means that the host/server doesn’t allow the plugin to write to the root directory of your WordPress site. In those cases, you can either work with your host to loosen the permissions on the root directory or you might try changing the storage location to ‘Content Path’ under Settings > Storage Tab > Location.

    Hope that helps~

*****ignore this message. Found the issue. Hadn’t realized that i was using 755 permission instead of 775 THANKS A LOT*****

    Hi

Firstly thank you for the quick response.
I use unmanaged vps and there is no problem with the timeout since i can control that. The issue remains (doesn’t allow the plugin to write to the root directory of your WordPress site) which i thought if you could help on how to make the change in permissions to allow your plugin to make the move of files. What is the command line?
There is another option which i thought to make use of and that is with another plugin (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/capability-manager-enhanced/).

    Many thanks
