• Dear Forum Support,

Each plugin author disclosed for their plugin the min. version of php on the plugin page.

However, with new versions of php being introduced regularly, I kindly request a change of the plugin page to also include the max version of php a plugin is compatible with.

I believe this significantly improves efficiency for developers when creating and troubleshooting website.

    Kind regards,

    Piet

This request has actually been made several times. Here are two related tickets in Meta Trac:
    https://meta.trac.ww.wp.xz.cn/ticket/4309
    https://meta.trac.ww.wp.xz.cn/ticket/7345

There you can also see why it was rejected or hasn’t been implemented yet. If you have anything to add, feel free to share your thoughts there.

It does seem to be an issue that is of concern for many.

This is not “Max version” as higher version does not limit execution of plugin code.
“Tested up to” – will be more correct, same as used for WordPress versions

    Dear @fierevere

This is a very good point and your phrase implies that the plugin author has actually ‘tested’ his plugin upto this version.
