Hi,
That’s strange. Please check if the plugin is activate and if you use any caching plugins flush all the cache.
If those are not the issues please provide a link to the page in question where it’s not working.
Hi,
The plugin is active. I deactivated it, then activated it again in case that would do the trick. I don’t use any caching plugins.
Here’s a link: You’ll notice that the button at the very bottom of the page works, whereas the one in the sidebar underneath the photo is the text for the shortcode.
I think you forgot to post the link.
There are a few ways it can go wrong. One of them is when the sidebar is dynamically loaded via Javascript. Another one is when using a visual text editor and the [ ] characters are converted to a HTML-code.
It’s not letting me post the link. It disappears after I hit submit.
What I don’t understand is that it worked just fine until recently. Are there changes in WordPress that could cause this?
I also tried creating a button on its own in the sidebar — one that isn’t in the caption of a photo — and that works.
Could be a lot of things. I’m thinking most likely the shortcode is not what it should be or got converted to HTML-characters. You could try to add the shortcode again and see if that helps.
I also can’t tell if something changed or not. It can be multiple things including WordPress, the theme, plugins you are using. Sometimes it’s a combination of those.
Considering the amount of support questions here ( little ) it’s probably not something connected to a recent WP update.
Also, you said that’s in the caption? I considered the shortcode just to be in a widget box. I don’t know what you use (plugin-wise) for this caption, but if that plugin doesn’t detect shortcodes that could be a reason as well.
