Maximum Password Length? | ww.wp.xz.cn

I installed WordPress software on my host. For my admin login (at http://www.mysite.com/wp-login.php or /wp-admin), what is the maximum password length I can use? Does it truncate silently after a certain length? I want a super long one, like 50 or more characters. Thank you for any answers.

Tara, thank you. Unfortunately, no one knows the answer in that thread, or in any other I have found haha. I was hoping someone might have a definitive answer. Thanks for your help and time!

I hope I’m too late to be of use to you, but in case others are looking, this suggests passwords may go as high as 64, if not higher: https://core.trac.ww.wp.xz.cn/browser/tags/4.2.1/src/wp-includes/pluggable.php#L1890

On further hunting I found that the maximum password length is 4096 characters.

In the code, lines 217 and 256:
