Hi taneya,
thanks for your post!
Yes, indeed, large tables can cause the “Edit” screen to be slow, because all cells are loaded at once.
Unfortunately, I can’t really give numbers, but for tables with about 10,000 cells, it might be better to look into custom database solution. However, the exact number depends on various factors, like the speed and memory of your computer and browser. There have been users who have worked with larger tables without problems, but also the opposite.
I would like to add some sort of incremental loading, but unfortunately, that’s not that trivial here and I haven’t yet been able to find a nice and working implementation. I have it on my “enhancement list” though, so maybe I can find a solution in the future.
Best wishes,
Tobias

Thanks Tobias!
Well, it’s a great plugin, even given that consideration, and for a table that large I’d probably change it over to a database anyway. I was pleased to learn of the update via the ManageWP blog post so thanks for all of your hard work. I have been using WP-Table Reloaded for awhile now, so this is nothing but great news. Take care.
Hi,
no problem, you are very welcome! Great to hear that you have been using WP-Table Reloaded and like the news about its development! 🙂
Best wishes,
Tobias
this seems to be my problem. I have a table with about 4000 rows, that won’t load on some browers because of a timeout issue. Any work around ideas would be great!
Hi,
as this seems to be same problem as on http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/large-database-not-loading-in-firefox , I’ll answer there shortly.
Regards,
Tobias
