MCTAG not working

I run a summer camp for children. I need to pass the campers’ first name into my mailchimp list. I have created an additional list fields in mailchimp and added them to my cf7 form using the MCTAG. For some reason I cannot get it to work properly. After submitting the form nothing is passed from cf7 to the fields in my mailchimp list. Any help is much appreciated.

In cf7 I did as follows:

[text* MCTAG-CHILD1 placeholder “First Name”]
[text* MCTAG-CHILD2 placeholder “First Name”]
