Measure events

Hello

I have a blog in WordPress and I would like to measure the amount of visitors clicking on some links and banners.

Currently I am using a plugin called WP Google Analytics Events, but it affects the values in Analytics. With it, Analytics counts the clicks as pageviews, so the number of pageviews increases and become unrealistic.
Does anybody know how to solve this? Or another way to measure clicks on links and banners without effecting pageviews?
