Media files missing/duplicated

    I installed Folders into my staging environment on May 4. A few images were missing from the media library. It showed that there were about 80 uncategorized images but only about 10 were showing under the uncategorized filter. The other files disappeared from the media library completely.

    The site was published last Friday and the images were still missing form the linbrary, but displaying on the front end of the site. I tried disabling the plug in but now many of my images (since late April) have been duplicated in the media library with the same file name. If I upload any images to the library they are duplicated.

    Folders plugin don’t have any code in our codebase that changes/duplicates/deletes files, we just arrange the files in virtual folders. I believe that since the Folders plugin is a big part of the UI in the media library, you suspect that it caused the issue, but I think that a conflict with another plugin has caused this issue. The biggest proof here is that even while the plugin is deactivated, your images keep being duplicated when you upload new images to the media library.
