• First of all, I like the way that Polylang translates media and so far adding translated media has been working fine for me, but suddenly not anymore.

The problem is that the media library window pop-up keeps loading only in the default language, when trying to add media to translated posts, even no matter which flag I have active in the admin bar content selection (whereas it used to and should auto-detect the current language and load the translated media library).

The front-end loads all existing translations correctly, it is just impossible for me right now to add new content on the admin side.
I have been trying to roll back polylang versions, but nothing seems to make it work again.

How could I make polylang work again so that the translated media library is loaded in the correct language when trying to assign images to translations?

  • (sorry to butt in) I have the same problem now. I just installed a clean wordpress for my next project, added a few plugins, then polylang and the string translation lab is showing only the main language. I tried to shut all the other plugins down and even reinstall whole wordpress with only polylang in it. No change. I downloaded the most recent wp version (4.7), so it might be a compatibility issue?

    Hi,

There is a Forum search form in the left sidebar. Same question resolved 1 week ago:

    Hello,

That is not the same question at all. I am not looking to disable media translations, as it is a useful feature for me.
On the contrary, I already have all the media translated already. I want to assign the translated media, but I cannot create new content.

In the topic you point to, it is said that media library is loaded depending on the language the page is in.
My problem is, this is not possible for me as it is not functioning as expected, because the window to assign the media to gallery does not detect the language and only loads in default language.

I am sorry, I understood the original problem wrongly, we have a different error. Please accept my apology for disrupting this thread and ignore my previous post here.

@folver Did you try with Twenty Sixteen and no other plugins activated?
