Media redirection

So I read the patch notes of version 7 where you stated that you moved the option to redirect media pages into the search console appearance and that is activated by default. Well, it doesn’t seem to be this way for me.
Is this still enabled by default or have you removed it?
Where do I set it up when I don’t have the search console activated? It feels like yoast is forcing the user to use the search console.
