I have a frustrating problem when using the media uploader. I upload an image as usual, then when I click “Insert Into Post” instead of it inserting, then Media Uploader refreshes and does nothing.

I have tried to completely remove and re-install WordPress, I have no plugins activated, and I have the latest version of WP too.

Will gladly provide admin access if someone can please please help me.

    thanks!

    steve

check with your host for the max upload size for media as this is most often the issue.

@swansonphotos thanks for the advice, though I checked with my host and their PHP memory limit is 64mb.

To clarify the photo uploads and appears in the gallery fine, but when I try Insert it, nothing happens. If I copy the url, then use the Insert From URL function then it works.

So there is a strange issue with the direct Insert Image function.

It is not ‘memory’, it is is max file upload size (if your host does not know this get a new one)..that said, check file permissions on the media folder.

    gotcha,

I checked permissions on “uploads” and it was set to 755. Is that correct?

That should work if others need access, but the main point of my replies is the max file upload size set either in your php5.ini file or the one that controls the php enviroment and controlled by your host…or both.

    Oh ok,

here is what they said “upload_max_filesize 64M”

    http://hp75.hostpapa.com/phpinfo.php

Not sure if that sheds any light on this. Also even more strange, I have another site with this same host where I don’t experience this problem. Yet I’ve re-installed several times on this domain and am still experiencing issues with out any plugins and the standard WP theme.
