Hi DevilWolf,
This will be quite difficult to fix I think without me being able to see the issue myself. If you’re happy to, could you send me a (temporary) admin login through http://www.maxmegamenu.com/contact?
If you’d prefer not to, please could you, in Google Chrome, right click somewhere on the menu page and go to ‘Inspect Element’. Then, in the window that pops up at the bottom of the page, go to the Console tab. Then, click the “Mega Menu” button for a top level menu item and see if any errors appear in the console. If they do, please paste them here.
Regards,
Tom
Hi Tom,
I get this:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found): http://www.google.com/uds/?file=ads&v=3&packages=search&async=2
Then when it shows the loading screen I inspected again:
[Error] SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unrecognized token ‘<‘
parse (load-scripts.php, line 4)
parseJSON (load-scripts.php, line 4)
parseJSON (load-scripts.php, line 8)
success (admin.js, line 58)

fireWith (load-scripts.php, line 2)

b (load-scripts.php, line 4)
Hi DevilWolf,
This looks like the problem:
[Error] SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unrecognized token '<'
Now I just need to work out where it’s coming from. Please could you do the same thing (open the inspector, load the mega menu settings), but this time look at the Network tab instead of the console tab?
The network tab will show you a list of all the requests being sent off to the server. Just after you click the “Mega Menu” button, you should see a new request logged in the network tab – click on that, then click on the Response tab (this is what I’m looking for: http://screencast.com/t/DW6dspXRo)
Could you paste that data into pastebin.com and send me the link?
Regards,
Tom
Hi there,
I don’t know what the response tab is? Doesn’t show in my browser. Also, your screencast link is dead so I cant view it.
Hi, here’s the correct link to that screenshot:

Hello,
Okay, hopefully I got it correct. Check this: http://pastebin.com/aAhJ5E3C
Hi DevilWolf,
That’s what I’m looking for thanks.
Have you added a Carbon Widget (not sure what that is myself) to the mega menu? If so please go to Appearance > Widgets, you should find a widget area called Mega Menu Widgets, delete the widget from there and the menu should start working again.
Which theme are you using? I’ll need to download it to fix the actual issue, but the above steps should hopefully get you up and running.
Regards,
Tom
Oh yes! It seems for some reason I had a widget in that section… I don’t know why but I did haha. Thanks a lot for your help!
You’re welcome π If you get a few spare minutes please consider leaving a review!
Thanks
Tom
