    I need to identify the best way of allowing registered users to create lists of the articles I have posted on my site.

    For example, if I have 70 articles published a registered user will be able to:

    – CReate a category ‘Gardening’
    – Tag articles they want to appear in the Gardening category
    – View a list of the articles they have tagged
    – Manage the order of that list

    I am thinking a directory component – the content wouldn’t necessarily have to be native wordpress articles – it could be directory entries. The key feature is for users to be able to create their own categories of content (and preferably manage the order of the content).

    Any pointers to workable plugins greatly appreciated.

    It sounds like you might be looking for a plugin that lets users favorite posts and then display their favorited posts. There are a number of those plugins out there with a variety of features.

    These pugins would probably not allow for user-tagging or managing order though (although do look around, I could be wrong on that). Those are fairly custom features, and you might need to get a dev to build those options on top of a favoriting plugin.
