    Hello,

I had an issue that sometimes I get spam users on my website. I was trying to find a way to limit or stop spam users. I have a membership website using Memberpress and Buddyboss.

Memberpress is in charge of registration for the website. I am unable to get user verification to work after following the steps on memberpress website.

    https://docs.memberpress.com/article/316-how-to-require-email-verification-on-registration

Do you still work with memberpress registrations? It seems like right now theres a few issues.

    1. When you first register on the memberpress page, the page refreshes but you stay on the regisration page. No notification that anything was sent to an email. It almost looks like nothing happens. If you try to register again it says that the email was taken already.

    2. If you go into your email, the activation link is there. When you click on it, it brings you to a page where it looks like it’s verifying. Then it says thanks for verifying. But it looks like the page is blocked. I have pages that are blocked unless you are a member with specific tiers. But if you look, you can see that it creates a WordPress subscriber but does not activate a memberpress membership tier. So the person will have an account but cant access anything since it doesn’t complete a memberpress transaction.

For testing purposes, I have it on my staging site to register.

Is there anything that can be done, or does this not work with Memberpress?

  • Hi @hecttech08,
I tested the registration process with Memberpress, and it’s working fine. When the registration is complete, it’s transferred me to the Thank you page. You can customize the ‘Thank you’ page with a custom text like ‘Please check your email inbox to verify.’

And on our plugin setting, there is an option called ‘Redirect after verification.‘ Just set its value to none. Kindly follow the screenshot- https://i.imgur.com/oYmlQkh.png

@azizulraju it creates a normal WordPress subscriber but not a memberpress subscriber.

You are able to access the full website? No pages say access denied?

To confirm, you are testing all on my staging 9 site and ad not my main website? The main website does not have this plugin since it was not working.

@azizulraju Hello, Im still having issues with this. On my test website, it creates a WordPress subscriber, but not the free tier Memberpress subscriber.

Also, on the signup page it makes it look like you did not sign up. The Memberpress registration page just sits there, even though you do get an email to verify.

Have you tested it on my website?

Are you able to create an account and use all my webpages, or are you blocked?

    Hi @hecttech08,
Sorry for the delay. Currently, our Dev team is working on this. Hopefully, they’ll update the plugin within 24 hours!

Hi, Sorry for the late reply,

We have tested our plugin with Memberpress and its working fine as expected,

#1. On Memberships registration page it redirects correctly after registration, so you can put verification instructions on thank you page content.

#2. Also, I can see the Memberships level correctly assign to the registered users. we have tried PayPal Sanbox.

Please note, that we have tested with Memberpress latest version.
