We recently upgraded to members plugin version from version 1.1.3 to 2.0.0. Once updated we ran into an issue when adding users.

We are currently running a multisite WordPress instance with the members plugin network activated. Users are managed on a site-by-site basis, with admins on those sites adding members when needed. Users are added ad-hoc and confirmation emails are skipped for all accounts created. The issue we ran into was when users were added on a sub site, and they were not showing up in the admin users panel within that sub site. They would show up in the multi-site network admin panel at the top level, but again, not in the sub site where they were added. By digging through the users data in the database, we noticed that users added since the update to the plugin had no role assigned to them. It appears that this issue was caused by the multiple role select option that was activated on the add user screen and new to 2.0. With this feature enabled and skipping the confirmation email, users were created, but with no role assigned, so they were not appearing in the admin user panel.

We were able to resolve the issue on 2.0 by turning off the option to select multiple roles in the members settings area. Ultimately we reverted to 1.1.3 to ensure proper performance and to alleviate any ongoing issues that might present themselves with the new version. We did go through the typical troubleshooting process of deactivating other plugins to make sure they were not causing issues and running vanilla theme to be sure it was not conflicting with the plugin. The issue can be tied to the day we updated the plugin so we are almost certain it has caused this issue.

Have you seen this presented in other sites or in any multi-site configurations? We would like to update to 2.0 and just need to know what could be causing this and what a remedy might be. Thank you for your time.
