Our Content Restriction functionality doesn’t work based on user roles, it is intended to work based on the membership (if that user has or doesn’t have an Active PMS subscription plan). For example, if you’ve restricted a page to the “VIP” subscription plan, then only users who have an Active membership to the VIP plan will be able to see the contents of that page.
To test this, you can go to Paid Member Subscriptions -> Members -> Add New -> and from here give that specific subscription plan to a test user of yours (you can read more about this here). After you make sure that the user has that membership status set to Active, then open an Incognito browser window, log in with that user, and go to the page that is restricted. Now that user should see the contents of that page.
