Memcache vs Memcached Backend

First of all great plugin and thanks for the hard work keeping it updated.

My questions is, recently I installed and somehow got into installing Memcache on my Nginx server rather than Memcached. Does it make a difference Memcache vs Memcached?

If so, do I need to uninstall Memcache and how would I go about getting the real Memcached installed? Seems very confusing this naming nomenclature being so darn close.
