Memory/Load Spikes

    I installed 1.6 this morning on two sites and immediately started experience load and memory spikes that lasted all morning. When I deactivated the update and rolled back to 1.5, the problem stopped. Can’t say the update caused this, but you might look into possible conflicts. I can send my plugin configuration for those two sites, if you’d like.

    I don’t have 1.6 active any longer, having rolled back to 1.5. But here’s a screenshot of the active plugins when updated:

    It might be an interaction with any of these, but if I had to take a guess, I’d say its Better WP Security.

    Other details: WP 3.5.1 using a child theme of Twenty Twelve.

    Okay. Can you provide URL of the site?

    Also, can you check the directory that CAPTCHA images are stored? I guess you’ll see tons of files there, or they might have been already cleared in this morning.
