[Theme deepblue] menu

i’m creating a coupon type blog. basically i want to separate food items from non food items in a menu with my current theme. i’m using wordpress 2.7 with the deepblue theme.

how can i submit a post and have it added to a “semi-static” page created just for recent posts in that category.

i want this:

menu, food, non-food

that is my menu. when i submit a post to one of these categories, how do i get it to appear in that menu.

i am 100% sure it has been covered but ive been searching for almost 2 hours. apparently my keywords are not getting the job done.
