Menu ans Submenu

Hello

I have been trying for hours to get the menu on my website to work
I have 4 main parent menu items and then various sub menu items
i have 2 submenu items under my home page problem is that the parent page links no longer work, i have searched all over for a solution but i can not get the menu to work and i can not return to any of the parent links on my website including my home page.
After some reserch it seems that because of bootstap 3 it is impossible to have a parent menu with a sub menu and have the parent menu work as a page link, a sub menu will block any parent menu from working.
How can i build a menu with a submenu and have the parent links go where they are supposed to go like my home page.
i have built websites with WP in the past and i never had this problem. I am dislexic and can not code and i am trying to build a website without having to code. how can i fix this menu problem without coding because i would not even know where to find the files to edit in the first place.
Please any help would be great as not being able to click back to my homepage is ruining my whole site.
