How to make a menu close on click

I created a single page with a long menu linking to anchors on the same page. This is problematic on a single-page scroller, as a long menu covers up the content when it scrolls. So it would be nice if the expanded menu would automatically collapse when a link is clicked.

I would like the menu to close/collapse after clicking the link. Any ideas on the best way to accomplish this?
