Menu Failure
-
I love this theme but have had issues with the menu bar as soon as I installed it not even 24 hours ago. At first I’d add something to a menu and then it would disappear on the backend. Only the about page would stick. Right now I can’t add anything at all to any menu and so what is displayed are all of my pages.
I never had this issue with menus until I installed this theme. I’ve been using WordPress since 2010.
And now when I click on “customize” I get this message:
Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘Illegal widget setting ID: nav_menu_item[]’ in /home/dosenber/public_html/primaltoad/wp-includes/customize/class-wp-customize-nav-menu-item-setting.php:180 Stack trace: #0 /home/dosenber/public_html/primaltoad/wp-includes/class-wp-customize-nav-menus.php(589): WP_Customize_Nav_Menu_Item_Setting->__construct(Object(WP_Customize_Manager), ‘nav_menu_item[]’, Array) #1 [internal function]: WP_Customize_Nav_Menus->customize_register(Object(WP_Customize_Manager)) #2 /home/dosenber/public_html/primaltoad/wp-includes/plugin.php(525): call_user_func_array(Array, Array) #3 /home/dosenber/public_html/primaltoad/wp-includes/class-wp-customize-manager.php(605): do_action(‘customize_regis…’, Object(WP_Customize_Manager)) #4 [internal function]: WP_Customize_Manager->wp_loaded(”) #5 /home/dosenber/public_html/primaltoad/wp-includes/plugin.php(525): call_user_func_array(Array, Array) #6 /home/dosenber/public_html/primaltoad/wp-settings.php(414): do_action(‘wp_loaded’) #7 /home/ in /home/dosenber/public_html/primaltoad/wp-includes/customize/class-wp-customize-nav-menu-item-setting.php on line 180

I am now editing my categories and randomly what I was calling 2 menus of “One” and “Menu” just randomly showed up as a category.
Very strange things that I’ve never seen before!
And now my categories are all duplicating each other.
It’s getting comical haha. 🙂
I click on “edit” for one of my categories and it goes to the tag page.
I think I’m going to need to make someone an admin to dive into what seems like an intense issue that I will have no idea how to fix.
Final note. I’ve noticed that my menu and categories are now interchangeable. The menus I created showed up in categories and the category I created is showing up in menus. That would explain the duplication, too. At least a little.
FInal note, promise! When I go to my media nothing shows up even though I have A LOT of photos in there!
@primal-toad This does not sound like a theme issue at all. There are over 4,000 active installs of this theme and nobody else has reported any such issue, so that’s further evidence to me that this issue is related to your specific WordPress installation.
You might try posting a question on https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/ to see if anyone there has any ideas.
Must be a coincidence, then. I’ve reached out to my web developer.
