Adding Items to a Menu
Ok, I think I know what’s going on. I’m not seeing an Appearance option anywhere. I also just discovered that I’m using WordPress version 3.8.5, so that’s likely the reason. Short of having the admin (who is long gone) install the latest version, is there any other way I can manipulate the menu in this older version?
Custom navigation menus were introduced in version 3.0, so that’s likely not the issue. Are you an administrator? Can you navigate directly to the menu editing screen: yoururl/wordpress/wp-admin/nav-menus.php
No, I cannot, so this must be the issue I’m having. I’ll investigate how to become an administrator, which will be a tall order because the guy who set this site up is long gone. But thank you for your assistance.
I was able to become an administrator by modifying the Users section of the database directly via the GoDaddy control panel.
