    I realise that WordPress doesn’t have a “standards” guide of any sort but there seems to be a general convention for naming the menu labels, which Lifter doesn’t abide by.

    Lifter uses this convention:

    * Courses > Courses
    * Courses > Add Course
    * Memberships > Memberships
    * Memberships > Add Membership
    * Engagements > Engagements
    * Engagements > Add Engagement
    * Orders > Orders

    Wordpress uses this convention:

    * Pages > All Pages
    * Pages > Add New
    * Posts > All Posts
    * Posts > Add New
    * Users > All Users
    * Users > Add New

    Woocommerce (as an example) also uses WordPress convention:

    * Products > All Products
    * Products > Add New

    Are there any plans to change your menu labels so they’re in line with the WordPress convention?

  • @ivanlutrov,

    I actually see a lot of people complain that LifterLMS adds *too many* menu items to the menu. So we’ve combined some things under various members (anything related to courses, goes under courses, anything under ecomm goes under orders) and yes, we’ve excluded the “Add {noun}” in order to slim down the number of things we have in the menu.

    As you noted, WordPress doesn’t have a standards guide here so we’re not following and while we may be breaking convention, it’s unwritten convention and as of this very moment, no, we do not have plans to change our menu structure.

    (I am not kidding, I see the number of menu items LifterLMS adds to the site marked as a negative in reviews of our software!)

    Is this causing a huge issue for you somehow? I’m sorry if it is and I’ve noted the feedback. I listen to feedback very attentively and when things bother a large number of our users I make changes to accommodate.

    Thanks,
