Version 2.8.0 update exposes menu items listed below
“Who can see this menu link? = logged in users” menu items. Previously if a menu item was nested below a private menu… it would be viewable to the public. WHAT A MESS
We are seeing the same problem. Hoping an update will be out soon.

Is it planned to include this fix in a version 2.8.1, or should we manually update the affected um-filters-navmenu.php file?
If a release is planned, is there an estimate when this will happen?

Yes the fix Will be included in the next UM update. No ETA date yet for the release.
