Menu Problems
-
Hi,
I am trying to add a “promotions” page to our website.
I created the page, added some content to it.
I tried to add it as a subitem of the “Events” item in our main menu.
When I drag it slightly to th eright it indents, but once I save it, it goes back to being a menu item, not a subitem.
I have tried for a hour to understand what I am doing wrong, t=it shoudl not be this hard to edit. I thought that this is what wordpress is all about, ease of use.
The page is a child of events page.
Also on the events page there is a sub menu that does not have the “promotions” page on it. I suspect once the promotions item becomes I sub item it will play nice.
HELP, I am at wits end

What theme are you using? Try deactivating your plugins and switching to the default theme to see if you still have this issue.
We are using Karma Theme.
I will try that, I do not have a ton of experience with wordpress yetI don’t think I have a default theme installed
Sorry, should have been a bit more clear- default means the theme that comes with WordPress – it’s twentytwelve. You should have that under Appearances >> Themes – click on activate to switch to it.
ok, now it loses all of its submenus.
Any submenu itme is now a clickable menuatually Pages and shortcodes still have submenu items
So it is working? You may need to redo the menu set-up in the new theme – they don’t necessarily carry over. But this helps to narrow down where the problem might be.
nope, when I tried to save the indented “promotions” it just revereted back to it being a menu item.
Can you post a link to your site?
For troubleshooting, you need to deactivate all your plugins and switch to the twentytwelve theme – if you don’t have it, you can easily install it from the Dashboard.
ok
will do it again nowstill will not save the indented menu …
i can’t leave it like that all day.
Any other suggestions. Hire someone ???
I am frustrated and at a loss now.
Wordpress is not my friendnow it’s really broken
