Menu Question – Font >> Bold

Hello — I’d like to make the top navigation bold but when I do (in the custom css in the theme) it makes my menu to big and throws the last option down a line.

Is there a way to bold the menu (and sub menus) while not resulting in this problem?

Possibly changing menu padding on right and left?
