    WordPress 6.8.3 / SQLite Object Cache 1.6.0

Occasionally, the following message appears on the wp-admin page:

“A software installation or upgrade operation flushed the SQLite Object Cache.”

This message has started appearing since the last update.

Does this message represent a warning about a malfunction?

    Thanks for the question.

No, this message is not a sign of any malfunction. I had a recent trouble report (here https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/issues-after-plugin-upgrades/ ) from a user who had problems with stale cache data upon upgrading plugin code. So, the plugin now pre-emptively flushes itself immediately after any software installation or upgrade operation, to prevent this.

I put in the message, well, why? I thought it would be helpful to site owners to know that. But it sounds like I should re-word the message to say something about how it is part of normal operation, to avoid the sort of “oh no, now what?” puzzling you experienced.

Thanks for the information. In any case, I will keep an eye out to check that the message appears on the occasions you mention.

And yes, I think it’s a good idea to re-word the message.

    Best regards

Today I updated the translations (plugin) and the message reappeared.

Is it necessary to clear the object cache for updates of this type?

    Best regards
