I am running a Bluehost WP with a thrive theme (blog) and have installed FB Customer Chat plugin but it does not work.
If I run the setup wizard and accept all the defaults, it generates the code.
As soon as I click anywhere on the page, I get this error in place of the code.

    ERROR:
Message origin is not from https://www.facebook.com.
    Code gen aborted.

I’m not running anything obscure, no special CSS or Javascript, all the template files are original. I have AMP, Yoast, Glue for AMP&Yoast, A3 lazy load, Backup WordPress, Mcafee Secure, Google Analytics, Jetpack and Bluehost plugins as well as the Thrive theme plugins.

I tried disabling everything except the chat plugin and Bluehost (because that uninstalls it) and still, the plugin doesn’t work.

Everything is updated to the latest version.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi simonlown,

Our apologies you are running into this issue. Can you do a screen recording and share how that error comes about? It will help us understand how the error occurs. If you are familiar with browser developer tools, can you show us what comes in the network tab?

    Thank you!

Hi, i want to set up a button (link) so that when i click on it, the Messenger window pops up. Is this possible? How can i do this? The button would say ‘Get in contact’ and when the user cliks on it, i want the messenger plugin to pop up, the same way it does when i click the Messenger icon.

    Hi leonava20,

We don’t have that functionality with the Messenger customer chat plugin. It automatically loads when the page loads. You have a couple options:

    1) Have a separate contact page where the plugin loads there.

    2) Have the button trigger a m.me link which would open a new window/tab with Messenger where the user can immediately message your page.

You can see all the methods to start a conversation here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/discovery

    Hi,
    I have the same problem!
I run the wizard, get the code and when I save or click anywhere on the screen, it appears:
    ERROR:
Message origin is not from https://www.facebook.com.
    Code gen aborted.
I read that the topic has been resolved, but I do not read solutions :/
    Thank you

If you tell me what you want to see in the developer tools, I’ll record that too.

    Thanks.

My facebook account disabled, cant i used facebook plugin? Disabled with no reason.
